Subaru est présent au Salon de Tokyo, normal. Subaru Tecnica International (STI), la division compétition du constructeur japonais Subaru, va proposer une série spéciale baptisée « S207 ». Inaugurée par la S201, la série S a toujours été exclusivement réservée au Japon. La division STi est chargée du développement des versions les plus sportives des Impreza et Legacy. Bien qu’au début ces versions étaient prévues en nombre limités, devant la demande grandissante, ces déclinaisons se sont vu être proposées dans le catalogue Subaru. La principale activité de STI reste le Championnat du monde des rallyes remporté durant trois années consécutives en 1995, 1996 et 1997 et sa participation aux 24 Heures du Nürburgring.

Un pack ‘NBR Challenge’ célébrant la victoire de Subaru en catégorie SP3T aux dernières 24 Heures du Nürburgring, ajoute un aileron en carbone et d’un marquage spécifiques, et la WRX STI NBR arbore une livrée Sunshine Yellow.

Design revue avec une lame à l’avant, des bas de caisses et un pare-chocs arrière revisité. Le design extérieur a également reçu quelques modifications dont un bouclier arrière, des coques de rétroviseurs et des bas de caisse noirs.

L’habitacle sera équipé de sièges baquet Recaro et de différents éléments issus du catalogue de STi. Cette S207 a également droit à une instrumentation spécifique, un interrupteur moteur, un pommeau de vitesses inédit et des plaques de seuil latérales avec le logo ‘S207′.

C’est une préparation complète que STI s’apprête à proposer avec cette WRX « S207 », modèle qui disposera de 328 ch sous le capot, d’une suspension avant ajustable DampMatic II, de l’Active Torque Vectoring et d’un système de freinage quant à lui fourni par Brembo.

La berline sportive produit désormais 328 ch de son 4 cylindres à plat et repose sur un châssis modifié. Techniquement, cette évolution de la WRX STI repose sur la version JDM, motorisée par le quatre cylindre à plat 2.0, et non le 2.5 des versions stock. Le bloc boxer de 2,5 litres ici est réduit à 2 litres, mais délivre 328 ch à 7200 tr/mn et 431 Nm de couple entre 3200 et 4800 tr/mn. Le boxer est associé à une boite de vitesse manuelle à 6 rapports
Les trains roulants reçoivent des amortisseurs Bilstein et de nouveaux ressorts. La Subaru WRX STI Special Edition S207 a aussi amélioré le freinage Brembo et adopte un ratio plus direct pour la direction. L’ESP est recalibré et l’auto sportive chausse des jantes BBS en alliage forgé, de 19 pouces chaussées en Dunlop Sport Maxx RT (255/35).

Tokyo, October 28, 2015 – Subaru Tecnica International (STI), the motorsports division of Fuji Heavy Industries, will launch a limited-edition model based on the “WRX STI” on December 1, 2015. Just 400 units of the model, dubbed the “S207”, will be available.
Taking the WRX STI as its base, this complete car from STI features exclusive engine and suspension tuning as well as distinctive interior and exterior design. Embracing the STI concept of offering the ultimate in road driving, the S207 stands at the pinnacle of the STI complete car lineup and aims to be the world’s most enjoyable vehicle, providing a feel-good experience to all those who travel in it regardless of road conditions and enhancing driver skill.
Special engine tuning boosts maximum power output to 328 PS. Handling is enhanced by a quick steering-gear ratio of 11:1, the addition of original STI components including a flexible tower bar, DampMatic II front suspension with adjustable damping (a first for a Japanese automaker), and front-rear Active Torque Vectoring, all of which combine to achieve a strong yet flexible ride and sharp cornering. Driving performance has also been enhanced with Brembo 6-pot brakes in front and 4-pot brakes at the rear, both featuring monoblock opposed-piston brake calipers and drilled rotors (2-piece type in front); specially designed 255/35R19 tires; and an exclusive large front spoiler. Special design elements serve to heighten driver anticipation and the joy of ownership, from the rear-bumper air outlet on the exterior to exclusive STI-spec Recaro front bucket seats and customized sports instruments on the interior.
Evoking the spirit of the Nurburgring 24-Hour Race, where the WRX STI continues to vie for honors, an “NBR Challenge Package”, featuring an exclusive dry carbon rear spoiler and an ornament commemorating Subaru’s victory in the SP3T class in the 2015 Nurburgring 24-Hour Race.
The S207 is available in three body colors: WR Blue Pearl, Crystal White Pearl, and Crystal Black Silica. Additionally, a limited run of the “NBR Challenge Package Yellow Edition” in vivid Sunrise Yellow will be on offer as a special model.

Subaru Tecnica International Inc. (STI) entered their SUBARU WRX STI Nürburgring 2015 car, which was based on the road-going production model, in the Nürburgring 24-Hour Race, held in Germany from Thursday 14 to Sunday 17 May. Starting out from class pole position, team STI covered 3,629 km in 24 hours to finish top in the SP3T class for sub-2 litre turbo-charged vehicles. This was SUBARU WRX STI’s third win in the SP3T class, following victories in 2011 and 2012.
